Congratulations to Our Musicians

I am proud to announce that the following students were selected to represent St. Paul School in the 2010 Honor Band: Myles Barrow (alto sax), Leander Villarta (alto sax), and Kayliana Prioleau (bells). We are so pleased that our students use their gifts to benefit all of us and work hard to hone their skills.

Assistance to Our Brothers and Sisters in Haiti

All of us have seen the extreme suffering and loss of human lives for so many in Haiti. Please talk with your children about how all of us are called by Jesus to take care of each other. At our school Mass on Wednesday, January 27th we will take up an offering to be given to Catholic Relief Services to assist victims of the earthquake. This will be most meaningful if our students earn the money they donate or take it from money they may have saved. However, this is of course a family decision. If sending cash, please be sure it is in an envelope. If you are more comfortable sending a check, please make it out to CRS/ Archdiocese of Seattle. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is the official international humanitarian agency of the U.S. Catholic Church.

Welcome to Our Newest Faculty Member

Please join me in welcoming Karen Taylor as our new third grade teacher. Mrs. Taylor taught fourth grade for four years at Our Lady of Lourdes in Vancouver, WA and more recently she taught third grade for two years at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Student Illness

With cold and flu season upon us, please use good judgment before sending your student to school. Students should not be sent to school with a fever or any type of vomiting. They should be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school. This helps students and staff/faculty alike to avoid causing illnesses to spread. As we look out for the well-being of all, we thank you for your cooperation with this.

Inclement Weather

Our Inclement Weather Procedure is as follows. We hope it serves sa an efficient means of communication for you. Please keep this information in a place where you can refer to it in the event of an emergency situation. School closure (and late starts) will be announced byradio in the morning between 5:30am and 7:30am. Generally speaking, if Seattle Public Schools close, St. Paul School and the ESS program will be closed also. On occasion, although our school is not closed, the hot lunch program may not be provided. If possible, this will be announced also. When it is necessary to close because of inclement weather, or any other emergency, parents will receive notice by radio and TV. Listen to early morning broadcasts from KJR, KOMO, KIRO and KING. If no announcement is heard over these stations, assume school is open at the normal time. Late Openings at St. Paul School will always be at 9:30am. Please refer to your Parent Handbook for the Emergency Closure section. You can also log in to www.king5.com for school information.

Student arriving to school past the tardy bell at 7:55am need to check in the school office before going to their classroom.
